Trivallis residents to benefit from improved accommodation following Fanheulog scheme closure

Trivallis housing association has taken a decision to close its Fanheulog sheltered housing scheme in Talbot Green and find new permanent homes for all the residents.

On Tuesday 14 May, Trivallis informed everyone living at Fanheulog of the need to permanently move them. Due to the poor condition and accessibility issues at Fanheulog, residents are being permanently relocated to new homes so that they can live somewhere more suitable for their needs.

Over recent months, Trivallis has undertaken extensive works at Fanheulog to improve safety for everyone who lives there. Even with these improvements for safety, the building is still unable to provide long-term financially viable sheltered accommodation that meets the needs of residents.

Keiron Montague, Executive Director for Communities at Trivallis, stated:

“No decision has been taken about the future of the sheltered scheme site. Our current priority is making sure the building is empty so we can safely consider what the future may hold for the site.

“We understand that this is a stressful time for everyone affected. We are committed to supporting residents through this period of transition. We are speaking with all residents to understand their housing needs and the area that they want to move to. They will be offered suitable permanent alternative housing when it becomes available. We will help everyone find somewhere appropriate to live, support them through the moving process, and make sure they settle into their new home.”

This decision only affects the sheltered scheme and not the rest of the street.
