Stereophonics Frontman Kelly Jones Releases New Album ‘Inevitable Incredible’

Written by on 3rd May 2024

Stereophonics frontman, Kelly Jones, has released his highly anticipated solo studio album ‘Inevitable Incredible’, on Stylus Records through Ignition Records Ltd.  ‘Inevitable Incredible’ is available.

From Cwmamman in Aberdare, Kelly is celebrating the album release, ‘Kelly Jones In Concert’ will air tonight on BBC One Wales and iPlayer at 10:40pm. Filmed at BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff, Kelly and his band exclusively perform songs from ‘Inevitable Incredible’ for BBC Wales, with members of BBC National Orchestra of Wales. This will be followed by the documentary ‘Kelly Jones Inevitable Incredible – in Studio from Ocean Sound Norway’ which offers an intimate insight into the recording process of the album. Recorded with just his studio engineer and backline technician, the surroundings of vast wilderness perfectly captured the emotional depth of the record written during late-night piano sessions.

The ballad-esque title track ‘Inevitable Incredible’ opens the album, setting the tone with its emotive and vulnerable themes, earning praise from Classic Pop Magazine for its “bold stylistic shift for Jones“; followed by piano-led ‘Turn Bad Into Good’ which The Sun said “wouldn’t sound out of place on a Bond soundtrack”. ‘Time’s Running Away’ offers introspective reflections, whilst the uplifting new single ‘Echowrecked’ bears delicate strings and poetic lyricism. ‘Sometimes You Fly Like the Wind’ and ‘Monsters In The House‘ explore the depths of honesty and introspection, followed by the hopeful, soaring ballad ‘May I Come Home From My War’. The album closes with the powerful ‘The Beast Will Be What the Beast Will Be’, a song laced with lap steel guitar and the beautiful sentiment ‘Always remember, always be tender, to you’.

This week also sees the start of the ‘Inevitable Incredible’ tour which will feature the singer-songwriter performing the new album in its entirety. The intimate tour features two performances per evening on most dates, and has had additional dates added due to overwhelming demand.

Following 25 years of critical and commercial success with Stereophonics, and more recently with Far From Saints and their Americana-influenced debut album, Jones demonstrates his ongoing artistic evolution with ‘Inevitable Incredible’, showcasing his ability to adapt and expand his songwriting prowess.
