Logan Mwangi: Mother, stepfather and boy, 14, found guilty of five-year-old’s murder

The mother of five-year-old Logan Mwangi has been found guilty of his murder.

Angharad Williamson, 30, her partner, John Cole, 40, and a boy, 14, have all been convicted of the same offence.

Williamson screamed “no, no, no” from the dock as the verdict was announced.

The little boy, also known as Logan Williamson, was found dumped in the River Ogmore near his home village of Sarn in Bridgend on 31 July last year.
He was wearing mismatched pyjamas and was said to have undergone a “brutal and sustained assault”.
His injuries were described as similar of victims of high-speed crashes or someone who had fallen from a height.

When he died, he had been isolating for 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19 and was treated like a “prisoner”, the prosecution said.
In her closing speech, prosecution barrister Caroline Rees QC said Cardiff Crown Court had heard how Logan was a “smiling and cheerful” child.
