Cor Meibion Pontypridd Giving Tuesday performance to raise funds for Ategi Wellbeing fund
Written by Gavin on 24th November 2022
Ategi is a local charity that supports adults with additional needs to live independently lives, and achieve their goals and ambitions.
At lunchtime on 29th November they are inviting the local business community to come along to the Pottery Pub on Trefforest industrial Estate for a mince pie and to hear songs from Cor Meibion Pontypridd Mael Choir. The choir are supporting Ategi’s appeal to make a difference for adults with additional needs by donating to the Ategi Wellbeing Fund.
To boost the appeal, Ategi are taking part in Giving Tuesday November 29th, a day when people and organisations from all over the world come together to support the causes and communities that mean so much to us all.
Ategi Head of Business Development, Alice Peycke, says:
“Giving Tuesday offers a great opportunity to call for support for our Well Being Fund appeal. With the combined impact of Covid-19, the rising cost of living, increased energy costs, and public spending cuts, the people we support are some of the most likely to be hardest hit. They face a difficult winter ahead. Ategi Wellbeing Fund will pay for items that people can’t otherwise afford, and will make a tangible difference to enabling the people we support to live independently in the way that they choose.”
Examples of what a donation might support include:
· £10 will pay for travel costs to get to a life changing training or volunteering opportunity.
· £20 will pay towards feeding a treasured pet for a month.
· £50 will provide vital tools and materials to make a hobby possible.
· £100 will contribute towards a holiday break that means so much.
· £200 will pay for sound absorbing panels to reduce stress and anxiety caused by a noisy neighbour.
Anyone is welcome to come along to the Pottery at between 12-2pm on Giving Tuesday – 29th November, to meet the Ategi team, and share mince pies with Cor Meibion Pontypridd – Male Voice Choir.
