Ysgol Garth Olwg Celebrates 2022 A Level Results

Following an unprecedented period, the students of Ysgol Garth Olwg near Pontypridd are celebrating excellent A level results with notable individuals receiving outstanding results.

This year’s results show success in Advanced Level and Level 3 Vocational Qualifications with 100% of pupils gaining two or more qualifications with the results in general following a pattern which aligned between the outcomes seen in 2019 and 2021.

Students will be heading to many different universities such as King’s College London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter and Sheffield University to study a range of subjects. Other universities chosen by our pupils this year include Aberystwyth, Swansea and the University of South Wales.

Headteacher of Ysgol Garth Olwg, Trystan Edwards, said:

“It is an emotional day as we celebrate the success of our students following an unprecedented period due to the pandemic. We are so proud of the success of our students which is testament to their resilience and unyielding determination to reach their goals in such difficult conditions. This cohort has worked so hard, facing all the challenges with a positive attitude and they fully deserve their success. I would like to thank their parents/carers along with our dedicated staff, for their full support and commitment to the pupils. We look forward to following our students’ paths through university, work or further education, and in their future careers.”
