Update on the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty and the Ynysangharad War Memorial Park Footbridge (M&S Bridge) – November 11, 2020.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Andrew Morgan, said: “Works to bring the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty back in to use are continuing to progress well following the significant damage that the facility sustained as a result of Storm Dennis.
“The majority of these works will be completed by Christmas, although the Pool Plant works will be commissioned over the Christmas period which unfortunately means that the Boxing Day Swim will not be able to go ahead this year. We do, however, anticipate that the works to the Lido Ponty will be fully complete by mid-to-late January.
“The Ynysangharad Park Footbridge (M&S Bridge) has also now been lifted in to the Park by crane and, subject to fair weather, we anticipate that repair works will also be complete and the Bridge will be back in place by early February.
“Subject to COVID-19 restrictions, the Council will then be looking to hold a re-opening event at the Lido Ponty ahead of the normal Easter opening.”
