Too Good To Waste

Rhondda Cynon Taf based charity Toogoodtowaste is one of 100 UK charities to be awarded a £100,000 pound donation by Barclays Bank to help them continue supporting the local community to re-use & recycle through the COVID-19 Pandemic.
It’s the leading re-use charity in the County borough and collects household items like furniture and electrical appliances which are too good to waste from residents for free. They also collect surplus stock from high-street retailers.
All items are then sold at affordable prices in their showrooms in Ynyshir, Aberdare and Treorchy, to help alleviate the effects of poverty.
They are helped in this work by their team of committed volunteers, who play a key part whilst also gaining valuable work experience – and CEO Shaun England said: “We are delighted to receive this funding from Barclays and are now able to ensure these essential services will be here today, tomorrow and well into the future to help combat environmental impact by reducing waste to landfill, alleviate poverty through the access to affordable furniture, electrical & household items & reduce social isolation through volunteering & community engagement.”
