A Tonypandy man has been sentenced for stirring up racial hatred.
Daffron Williams, 41, from Clydach, Tonypandy, posted racist messages on Facebook between July 19 and August 11 this year.
He was today jailed for two years at Cardiff Crown Court. Detective Constable Georgina Prince said:
“I hope this case sends a very clear message to people who think they can hide behind a screen and publish racially prejudiced posts without consequence. It’s not a case of preventing ‘freedom of speech’ as a small minority of people will claim.
Freedom of speech is not freedom to spread racial hatred. “I would like to thank members of the public for alerting us to these types of posts which can be extremely harmful to all of our communities.”
