Taffs Well Incident

British Transport Police are appealing for information after an incident of assault and criminal damage at Taffs Well railway station.
On Sunday 8th October, Two men boarded the 8.17pm Treherbert to Barry service, at Porth station and during the journey, a fight broke out between the two men, after one of them dropped the other man’s mobile phone out of the train window.
Two other male passengers intervened.
The altercation continued on the platform at Taffs Well station.
The victim, an 18-year-old man, sustained facial injuries and required hospital treatment.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident on the train or on the platform, or who has any other information which could help the investigation.

A 19-year-old man from Cardiff was arrested on 9 October on suspicion of ABH assault and criminal damage. He has been released on bail until 11 November.
