Councillor Andrew Morgan, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council, said:

“The Met Office issuing a Red Weather Warning is a rare occurrence and I urge the public, in the interest of the safety of themselves and others, to adhere to this warning.

“If possible, stay at home for the duration of the weather warning, only leaving your home if essential, in order to protect yourselves and ease the pressure on Emergency Services

“Please take note the weather warning is clear that there could be a risk to life. The Council has therefore activated its emergency plans and will continue to issue regular updates.”

Local residents and businesses are advised to remain alert and take extra care at this time. If you have any issues, please call the Council’s Emergency Out Of Hours number 01443 425011.
