Written by on 27th May 2022

On 6th February this year Her Majesty The Queen became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

To celebrate this anniversary, there is a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. To honour this celebration, Stagecoach South Wales have unveiled a bus dressed in a jubilee livery that is showing casing in different operating areas across South Wales.

In addition, there are planned activities as follows;

· Spot the bus competition. The public are invited to send pictures on Twitter when they spot the jubilee bus out on the road. The best picture will win a month’s free travel and there are also some love 2 shop vouchers up for grabs. Follow @stagecoachwales for a chance to win.

· There is a Jubilee bus colouring picture, free to download on the Stagecoach website for children to enjoy. Adults are welcome to have a go too!

· There will be customer events in Aberdare, Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypridd from May 30th. The Stagecoach street team will be heading out with some fun jubilee themed goodies and promoting the latest tickets including ‘Flexi5’, a flexible bus ticket that can be used at any time over 12 months.

· Depots will be holding Jubilee themed parties with cakes and coffee and Jubilee decorations.

· On Thursday 2nd June and Friday 3rd June, buses across South Wales will follow a Sunday timetable. Full details are available at
