South Wales Police: Anti-social off-road operation

South Wales Police have launched a new anti-social off-road team, called ASORT.
The team ran an operation in the Cynon Valley and surrounding areas on Sunday August 21.

During the operation, the team:-

– Seized 4 illegal off-road bikes, with all riders going to court for no licence and/or no insurance

– 1 stolen KTM motorcycle (as pictured above) was found and reunited with its owner, who assumed they would never see it again. It turns out the bike had been stolen from south England and is worth £9,000

– 2 legal riders engaged with on mountain land

– 3 calls through their control room concerned about the driving of an orange off-road bike- attended bike sighted and engaged with ASORT consists of specially trained officers who deal with offending riders, disrupt illegal activity and seize offending vehicles.

The police said that the intelligence and reports provided by the communities of South Wales, enable them to understand where there are problematic areas, as well as those who are responsible, and are continuing to ask you to report your concerns online via the South Wales Police website: https://orlo.uk/DQzcf
