Rhondda Cynon Taf Council – Financial Support for People Impacted by Storm Bert

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has announced a Community Flood Recovery Grant in response to the severe rain and flooding caused by Storm Bert. This grant is being provided to impacted residents and local businesses that have been internally flooded to support with repair costs.

The level of financial assistance for households and small/medium sized enterprises has been confirmed:

  • £1,000 per residential property (household)
  • £1,000 per business property (SME)

How to Apply for Support

Details of eligibility and how to apply will be available tomorrow. Residents and local businesses eligible will need to complete an online application.

Cllr. Andrew Morgan OBE, Leader of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said:

“We recognise the severe impact that Storm Bert has had on our community, with significant flooding affecting many residents and businesses. In response, we are introducing a Community Flood Recovery Grant to provide immediate financial support. This grant will offer £1,000 per household and SME businesses who have been internally flooded to help cover the costs of damage and recovery.

“Our teams have been working tirelessly to assess the damage and provide on-the-ground support in as many locations as possible. Skips have been provided in impacted areas for people to dispose of damaged property. We are committed to helping our community recover and rebuild as quickly as possible.

“Further details on eligibility and how to apply for this financial assistance will be available tomorrow. We urge all impacted eligible residents and businesses to apply for the support, while our teams continue to support the community.”
