Pontypridd’s MP and MS Unveil Annual Christmas Card Winners
Written by Gavin on 9th December 2022
Alex Davies-Jones, MP for Pontypridd, and Mick Antoniw, Labour MS for Pontypridd, have this morning announced the winners of their Christmas card competition at a special ceremony at Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Gymraeg Llantrisant.
The pair received a huge number of entries this year, in what has now become a festive tradition for the MP and MS. For this year’s festive theme, children were invited to use their creative skills to produce entries based on the theme of ‘Peace on Earth’.
Taking first place was Celyn Stephens’s beautiful design, who was awarded with a £50 gift voucher prize by Ms Davies-Jones and Mr Antoniw at today’s ceremony. Celyn’s design will be printed on cards which will go to constituents, businesses and organisations across the Pontypridd constituency.
Ms Davies-Jones and Mr Antoniw also congratulated runners up Lily Stanulewicz and Keinan Noble on their creative designs.
Speaking after presenting the winning design, Alex Davies-Jones MP said:
“It’s lovely to be here in Llantrisant this morning to celebrate what has now become a well-established Christmas tradition. I look forward to this part of our community’s Christmas celebrations every year, and this year’s fantastic entries are some of our best yet!
“This has been such a difficult year for so many families in our community. I’m so happy to be able to continue our wonderful Christmas card competition, which I hope was a fun and engaging activity for all children across the constituency who took part.”
Also commenting, Mick Antoniw MS said:
“It was very hard to pick a winner this year as we received so many fantastic designs. I know many families will be looking forward to a well-earned Christmas break in just a few weeks’ time, so I hope today’s ceremony can mark the start of a peaceful festive period after a difficult year.
“Congratulations once again to Celyn for winning today’s prize and congratulations also to our runners up Lily and Keinan.”
