Written by on 5th January 2022

Police in the Rhondda are appealing for information following a robbery in Treorchy on Tuesday, January 4.
A 77 year-old woman had her bag snatched from her as she walked along Howard Street at approximately 3pm. She fell and broke her arm during the incident.
Officers are appealing for anybody who may have information to come forward.
In particular, they are urging motorists who may have been driving through the area to check dashcam footage.
Detective Inspector Matt Hicks, said: “This was a cowardly robbery which left the victim shaken and injured. It happened in broad daylight, when roads would have been quite busy, so there may well be people with dashboard cameras which captured important footage.”
A 40 year-old man from the local area has been arrested in connection with the incident and he is currently in custody.
Anybody with information is urged to contact the Police by any of the following means, quoting reference number: *003544.
