After a few weeks of campaigning, It’s been confirmed that the Post Office on Mill Street in Pontypridd will be reopening this week.
Confirmed in a tweet by Heledd Fychan, who’s the Councillor for the Pontypridd Ward – the service will be back up and running in the building it originally shared with Dennis Pounder Travel that collapsed at the end of last year.
Previous story – January 2018
A petition has been running, calling for the post office on Mill Street in Pontypridd to be reopened
The unit closed between Christmas and New Year after the travel firm it shared the building with went into liquidation.
‘Dennis Pounder Travel’ which took control of the unit in the mid 1990’s have said that anyone who has paid for a holiday is safe and that all customers are in the process of being contacted.
The post office have told us that the closure of the branch is temporary, but there are fears of a greater impact on the town centre of Pontypridd.
