Manics Frontman James Dean Bradfield Announces New Solo Album
Written by Gavin on 26th June 2020
James Dean Bradfield has today released two new tracks ‘THERE’LL COME A WAR’ and ‘SEEKING THE ROOM WITH THE THREE WINDOWS’.
The two tracks preview Bradfield’s upcoming yet-to-be-announced album, the follow up to his 2006 solo debut ‘The Great Western’ and with lyrics penned by Patrick Jones – the famous Welsh poet and playwright and brother of Manics bassist and lyricist Nicky Wire. The whole record was inspired by the life and death of Chilean musician, teacher and political activist Victor Jara.
Speaking to NME about the two new songs, Bradfield said that: “One shows Jara’s joy, the other shows his fears”.
The forthcoming album will feature two different views, ‘THERE’LL COME A WAR’ is a pensive, low slung threat of a track that points to the conflict yet to come while ‘SEEKING THE ROOM WITH THE THREE WINDOWS’ is pure ascension, an instrumental with energy enough to ignite a dying star.
The super-deluxe reissue of Manic Street Preachers’ 1993 album Gold Against The Soul recently charted in the Top 20.
Earlier James Dean Bradfield headlined a fundrasier at The Factory in Porth for the victims of the flooding back in February.
