Written by on 4th December 2016

The Christmas countdown is on – and online bookings for the Boxing Day Swim at Lido Ponty, the National Lido of Wales, open on Monday (December 5).

Fresh from the success of last year’s event, which attracted around 250 swimmers, the Council has announced that its outdoor family attraction, with its heated pools, will open on Monday, December 26.

Sessions will run from 8.30am, with places available on a first-come, first-served basis. £2.50 (Children), £4 (Adults), which will include a hot drink and a festive pastry.

Online bookings open tomorrow (Monday, December 5th)

This will be the final opportunity of the year to swim at the Council’s family tourist attraction, which has welcomed almost 100,000 visitors since opening in August 2015.

As well as online bookings, the public will also be able to book their Boxing Day Swim in person at Lido Ponty Reception from Monday, December 5, also on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure and Culture, said:

“Online bookings are soon to open so join us if you can for our Boxing Day Swim at the National Lido of Wales. There is no facility like it anywhere else in Wales, and I am sure the atmosphere will be so special on December 26.”
