Mick Antoniw MS, Member of Senedd for Pontypridd and Alex Davies-Jones, Member of Parliament for Pontypridd are hosting a welcome event for Ukrainian families temporarily living in the Pontypridd constituency and are inviting local people with connections to Ukraine to come along.

The informal event at Llantwit Fardre Sports Club on 9th July, will be an opportunity for Ukrainian families and their sponsors to socialise and make connections with local people.

Mick Antoniw MS said:

“The support local people have shown for Ukraine has been magnificent, as has the welcome they have given to those Ukrainian families that have been temporarily settled in our communities.

“We want the families to feel at home and part of our community, so that’s why we’d also like local people who have connections to Ukraine to come along and enjoy this social event too.”

Alex Davies-Jones MP said:

“We know this is an incredibly difficult time for all the families who have settled in our local area.  Not only are they in an unfamiliar country, but they will of course be incredibly worried about family and friends back home.

“We hope this event will help all the families to feel at home and to show them just how much support they have from the people in Wales and across our communities.”

People resident in the Pontypridd constituency with connections to Ukraine are invited to attend the event at which refreshments will be available.  Those wishing to attend should email no later than 6th July.
