Graig and Penycoedcae Launch Community Fund

Working with Cllr Jayne Brencher Interlink is pleased to announce the launch of the Graig and Penycoedcae Community Fund 2020/2021
The Councillor for the ward Cllr Jayne Brencher said “We are fortunate to have secured a pot of money for the Graig and Penycoedcae area”.
She explained how the community would get to decide how the money from the fund would be allocate by the community, “I believe it should be for the community to decide what it wants and the panel members are local and well respected Residents”.
The Graig and Penycoedcae Community Fund is operated by Interlink RCT on behalf of the communities of Penycoedcae and Graig in Rhondda Cynon Taff. The fund was created as a one off payment to the local community from the development of the Berthlwyd Solar Farm, Penycoedcae and will be made available as a local grant scheme administered by Interlink RCT, the umbrella body for all local community and voluntary groups in RCT. In carrying out this undertaking Interlink will support the creation of a local community panel to assess fund applications
The fund will support the local community to engage in projects which improve the local environment and important community facilities’, as well as the lives of local residents, “Our community is proud and we have a vision for our future”, she Cllr Brencher, calling on local residents to “Please get involved!”
There will be an informal launch and community engagement evening on Thursday the 6th February from 6.30pm at the Graig Community Centre where residents can come along and find out more.
