As it happened…

22:00 – Exit poll suggesting Conservative will have a majority when all votes are counted and verified.

22:30 – Early indications show that Labour will hold Pontypridd, Rhondda and Cynon Valley Constituencies

22:44 – Counting has started for RCT Constituencies

23:15 – Labour is thought to have lost most support in Leave-voting areas

2015 – Turnout was 59.3%
2017 – Turnout was 62%
2019 – Turnout is 59.3%

2015 – Turnout was 64.3%
2017 – Turnout was 65.9%
2019 – Turnout is 60.03%

2015 – Turnout was 60.9%

Declarations are due at Pontypridd and Rhondda counts after 03.00

Across the UK it could be the biggest Conservative victory since 1987 and Labour’s worst result since 1935

RESULT – Chris Bryant (Labour) has HELD his seat in the Rhondda with a majority of 11,440 (Total votes 16,115)

RESULT – Beth Winter (Labour) has HELD the seat in the Cynon Valley with 15,533 votes

RESULT – Alex Davies-Jones (Labour) has HELD the seat in the Pontypridd constituency with a total of 17,381 votes

At 4.40am…

All 40 of Wales’ seats have now been declared.

Labour have 22 seats losing a few to the Conservatives who occupy 14 seats.

Plaid Cymru have defended all of their 4 seats.
