Culvert inlet upgrades to begin in Ynyshir

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council will undertake drainage improvements at Llanwonno Road in Ynyshir, with work starting on Monday, April 3. 

The scheme will upgrade the culvert inlet structure to increase the system’s capacity in heavy rainfall – reducing the risk of flooding and making the infrastructure easier to maintain.

The works location is near Ynyshir Primary School, and a significant element of the work is scheduled during the school Easter holiday to minimise disruption.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be used to make safe progress, while cars will be prohibited from parking close to the lights.

The Council has appointed Hammond ECS Ltd as the contractor to carry out the scheme, which will last around four weeks in total.
