Cambrian RFC thrilled with local sponsorship support

Local energy company, Pennant Walters, is once again throwing its support behind established valleys rugby club, Cambrian RFC

Pennant Walters has provided sponsorship to the junior section, Cambrian Coltz, which has enabled the Club to kit out nine of their young teams for the season.

As part of the continued sponsorship deal, the Club’s under 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 16 teams have all received a brand new kit which now sports the Pennant Walters logo.

This is the sixth year that Pennant Walters has provided financial support to the Club.

Having an extensive mini and junior section, the Coltz rely on volunteer coaches to allow all age groups to develop their game of rugby. With over 200 youngsters regularly training and representing the club in matches, the support from Pennant Walters has been gratefully received.

Steve Picton, Secretary of Cambrian Coltz, said:
“We are so grateful that Pennant Walters has continued to support our club, which means that our local children can continue to play the game they love.“We’re all proud to put on our new jerseys and the new kit has given each of our teams a boost – we know how much children love getting new ‘stash’!

The sponsorship provided by Pennant Walters is from a fund linked to two wind farms in the Gilfach Goch and Blackmill areas, Pant y Wal in the county of Bridgend, and Fforch Nest, which straddles the border of Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taf. The two sites have a total of 21 turbines producing 53 megawatts of clean electricity – enough to power the equivalent of 25,000 homes. It builds on previous donations which have seen the company provide money to support various local community groups.

“Cambrian RFC has a wonderful mini and junior section, which is evident from the growing numbers of youngsters playing week in, week out.“Our wind energy project community funds exist to make a difference to the local communities in which we work – benefitting people directly. We’ll be following each of the Cambrian Coltz teams and are wishing them the best of luck for the rest of the season.”
