Barking Mad Waggy Walk 2022

Written by on 3rd August 2022

Hope Rescue are thrilled to announce the return of their popular in person ‘Barking Mad Waggy Walk‘ this summer, which is this Sunday September 11, which has been kindly sponsored by Black Lion Roofing. The event was due to be taking place last month, but was postponed due to the hot weather.

This years walk will take place in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park between 1pm and 3pm where we will join together for a 5K circular walk around this beautiful park, home to the National Lido of Wales. This route is paved and flat, so suitable for the whole family to take part in.

If you don’t live nearby, then don’t worry as support can be arranged to organise your own ‘Barking Mad Waggy Walk’ at your chosen location.

Registration for the event is just £10 for the first dog and £5 for all extra dogs, which includes a goody bag and 10% off donated goods in our Pontypridd charity shop (for all registered walkers). For those taking part from afar, your bag will be sent in the post. We would like to remind you that all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and we ask that all dog’s remain on lead’s throughout the event.

Hope Rescue are at the busiest they have ever been in their 17-year history, so every pound really does count, and would love for the Barking Mad walkers (dogs and their humans) to fundraise to support the dogs in their care at this event. There’s no minimum sponsorship amount, but are simply encouraging everyone to raise what they can to support the Hope Rescue dogs. You can join their online fundraising event page here GivePenny | Barking Mad Waggy Walk  All walkers that reach £150 will receive a Hope branded snood.

Don’t forget the Hope Rescue charity shop is in Pontypridd and the charity’s team of volunteers would love to see you on the day. You could pop in to drop off donations to help us raise even more money and maybe treat yourself and your dog at the same time. The shop has a wide range of clothes, books, merchandise, dog accessories, food, treats and so much more…
