British Transport Police Officers investigating an assault against a woman on a train travelling between Pontyclun and Llanharan are appealing for witnesses.

At around 9.15pm on Saturday 11 September, two women boarded the train at Cardiff Central station and sat at a table seat.

A group of people, consisting of three young men and one young woman, boarded the same service at Pontyclun and sat adjacent to the two women, also on a table seat.

It is reported that an object was thrown at the two women, hitting one on their nose. The victim got up from their seat to confront the group, and the young woman from the group became aggressive towards them.

They all alighted the train at Llanharan station and the victim and suspects separated and left the station.

The young man suspect was described as white with short light brown hair. He had a black eye at the time of the incident and was wearing dark clothing, with a sling on one arm.
