Aberdare drug dealer caught

Twenty-four year-old Morgan Smart, of Wenallt Road, Aberdare was spotted in a supermarket car park in Pontypridd by an off duty officer in January.
The officer contacted colleagues and officers from the organised crime unit were at the location in minutes – they asked him to step out of his vehicle.
They checked his pockets and found cocaine and cash, and further searches of addresses linked to him uncovered more drugs and drug paraphernalia such as digital scales and grip seal bags.
Smart had buried some of it a shallow hole beneath a children’s trampoline in his garden.
In total, 15 grams of cocaine was seized along with over £500 in cash.
His phone was found to have messages linked to the significant supply of drugs.
He was charged with drugs offences to which he pleaded guilty, and was jailed at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on February 28th.
Detective Sergeant Gareth Jenkins, said:
“Our officers – whether on duty or not – are committed to taking drugs off our streets.“Morgan smart was caught red handed in possession of drugs and cash, and we found clear evidence that he was suppling a significant amount of cocaine. He has paid for his criminality with hid freedom and hope he uses his time in prison to reflect on his choices.”
