600,000 people in Wales Vaccinated

The Health Minister Vaughan Gething has said he is deeply sorry for every life lost, as Public Health Wales figures reveal over 5,000 people have died after testing positive for the virus, since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the number of people who have had a first dose of a Covid vaccination has passed 600,000 in Wales, and over 2,000 have had a second.

In the Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB area, a total of over 87K people have been vaccinated. The health board says they are aiming to get the most vulnerable vaccinated with the first dose by this Sunday.

Cases across Wales continue to fall, & the positivity rate stands at just under 10% & there are 115 cases per 100,000 of the population. In RCT from the 28th Jan – 3rd of this month, the rolling day infection rate stood at 114 per 100,000 people.
