Howard has been with GTFM for over a decade and is considered to be part of the furniture.

He loves getting out and about within our community meeting new people and can’t walk down the high street without being stopped for a chat!

Howard went full steam ahead with his ambition to become a DJ when he retired from his job on the railways. His natural talent for talking was spotted after he did an interview about 1950 and 60s music on the University of Glamorgan’s Fusion Radio and was asked to present a show. When the University teamed up with GTFM’s founders to start the full time station Howard had a regular cookery spot on his Afternoon Delight show.

He now presents the Community Link (10am-1pm) on Friday, Saturday Breakfast (8-10am) and Retro Shows on Sunday (10am-noon) and some Thursdays (7-9pm), plus many other appearances.

Originally from Worcester, Howard spent many years in Liverpool where he drove trains and spent time talking to local people and sharing memories of the Merseybeat era.

He has lived in Pontypridd since 1980.
