15 dancers from local SK Dance Academy have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to perform in New York after the principal of the Academy, Sarah Kingsbury, submitted a video application containing some of the routines the dancers had been working on.
As our local guru for local events in the Hawthorn and Rhydyfelin area, Cathy Lisles reports, the girls learned they’d been successful during a performance of a routine to Frank Sinatra’s ‘New York, New York’ when the words ‘WE ARE GOING TO NEW YORK’ we’re unveiled from behind a curtain.
Now the girls are working to perfect their routines ready for their performance in the Big Apple on July 26 and are also busy raising the £10,000 they need to get them there.
So far they’ve raised nearly £2,000 and have a lot of fund-raising planned. Including a Mad Hatters Tea Party at The Vale Hotel on Friday April 13.
If you’d like to sponsor them contact Sarah by e-mail at email@example.com or check-out their Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/skdance
