The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, is all set to open for the 2018 season, opening to the public on Friday 30th March.
The Council’s popular outdoor family attraction will also be open on selected extra weekends in April, May and September.
Attracting visitors of all ages and swimming abilities, The National Lido of Wales opens for the Easter school holidays for a special 17-day period from Good Friday, March 30, to Sunday, April 15.
The flagship visitor attraction will also be open to the public daily from Saturday, May 26, through to the end of September. Admission is £2 per adult, FREE for children under the age of 16.
This year the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, will also be open on the following weekends: April 21-22; April 28-29; May Bank Holiday, May 5-7; May 12-13; May 19-20.
Since opening its doors to the public in 2015, the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, has welcomed well in excess of 200,000 visitors – over 73,000 last year alone.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, with responsibility for Visitor Attractions, said:
“Now into our fourth season, we know that the public absolutely love The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty and we cannot wait to welcome everyone in 2018.
“The wait is almost over as we open on Good Friday, March 30 – and this year we are introducing extended dates as a trial.
“Having listened to our customers, and taking on board their views we are pleased to be extending this year’s opening season, and subject to this year’s usage, we will then take a view on whether this is something that can be continued in future years.
“I am sure swim sessions in our heated pools will be as popular as ever, whatever the weather, alongside all the usual attractions. We look forward to welcoming all our regulars, as well as new faces during our 2018 season.”
As well as the opportunity for lane swimming and more relaxed swims, and a Splash Pool for the little ones, there will once again be a whole host of activities on offer at The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, throughout the 2018 season.
Admission to the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, is FREE for children under the age of 16 and £2 per adult.
The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, has full disabled access, including entry into the main pool.
The National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, is a Grade II listed facility. Features include external and internal showers, heated indoor changing facilities, original wooden outdoor changing cubicles and a state-of-the-art Visitors’ Centre which tells the amazing story of The National Lido of Wales.
