These boots were made for walking and to inspire us all to walk for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Llantrisant Walk on Sunday 7th July will give us all the chance to walk for people in our own community who have reached the palliative care stage of their cancer experience. Every penny of the money you raise will go towards the Y Bwthyn NGS Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Unit that will open in September in the grounds of The Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
Join The Pontyclun and District Macmillan Fundraising Group for this year’s Llantrisant Walk.
You will leave The Llantrisant Leisure Centre at 11 or 11.15am depending on whether you choose to walk the 8 mile or 4 mile option. A stream of green t-shirts will flow through Llantwit Fardre and Efail Isaf taking in some stunning rural views before returning to the Leisure Centre. You will be encouraged along the route and entertained at the turn around point for the 4 mile walkers.
Your ‘Team Macmillan Medal’ will be waiting for you when you return to The Leisure Centre and once there you will be able to kick off your walking boots and join the ‘after walk party’ with bouncy castles, refreshments and entertainment. GTFM are also proud to show their support for the walk this year by providing their roadshow.
To thank you for taking part in The Llantrisant Walk, the Pontyclun and District Macmillan Fundraising Group will do their very best to make this a special day for you, your family and friends. So many of us are touched by cancer, and walking for Macmillan can be a way of helping to raise money, so that Macmillan is able to help others with cancer live life as fully as they can.
