Up to £50 million is wasted every year in Wales on unused prescription medicines.
This money could be better spent on NHS services in Wales.
The Welsh Assembly Government is working to ensure that money spent on healthcare
is spent as effectively as possible - and you can make a real difference by:
* Only ordering prescription medicines you actually need and
reviewing your prescriptions regularly with your GP
or pharmacist
* Talking to your GP or pharmacist about safe disposal
of medicines you no longer need - don't throw them in the
bin or flush them down the loo because that's
very bad for the environment!
* Checking the 'use by' dates on your medicines regularly,
as old medicines can be dangerous
