Becci's Weekly Observer Column
THIS WEEK ON YOUR LOCAL RADIO STATION
FOR WEDNESDAY 20/01/09
Snow Patrol…
As snow caused havoc across the County Borough, we’d like to thank all our traffic rangers for getting in touch to report on road closures and ice spots. We’d also like to apologise for the few disruptions to regular programming as our presenters were snowed in. Whilst we hope we’ve seen the end of the snow fall, don’t forget to tune in to GTFM as we keep you up to date daily with the 20/20 news, weather and travel for the County Borough every weekday on Breakfast from 7am and Drive from 4pm.
Get Involved….
If your other New Year’s resolutions are falling by the wayside, then don’t forget that volunteering is one resolution you can easily stick to! It’s so easy to become a volunteer and to learn a new skill, so why not get involved with us here at GTFM? We’re always looking for new volunteers and you can find out more by contacting our volunteer coordinator Jenny Munnelly, who will tell you all about a number of training opportunities. So whether you want to present your own radio show, learn how to edit, or help us in our busy office, we could have something for you. To find out more, email Jenny to jen@gtfm.co.uk.
And if radio isn’t the field you want to volunteer in, join Dave Meakin for the Interlink Hour every Thursday from 10-11am where he’ll keep you up to date with the latest news and volunteering opportunities from Interlink RCT.
GTFM Go Red For Heart…
GTFM will be going Red for Heart next month to show our support for the British Heart Foundation. February is National Heart Month, and if you are planning to go red for heart as well, we’d love to hear about it, and arrange a visit. Email Becci with the details, to becky@gtfm.co.uk, and tune in for more information on how GTFM will be going Red for Heart.
GTFM Entertainment Guide…
And if you have a local event coming up, whether you are organising a fundraising or charity event, why not let us promote it for you? Get in touch on the details below and for free we can include your event into the Entertainment Guide that plays every hour throughout the day.
